About this event

The night opens with a rare and intriguing collaboration between Kaja Draksler, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Marcin Masecki — two pianists channeling the architecture and spirit of Bach through a thoroughly contemporary lens. This duo performance explores the tension and harmony between interpretation, improvisation, and historical reference. Known for their bold approaches to classical music, Draksler and Masecki weave counterpoint into the present moment, breathing new life into Baroque structures with wit, freedom, and quiet intensity. It’s less a recital and more an encounter between centuries, with both artists bridging time through touch and instinct.

At 21:00, an all-star quintet brings together powerful voices from across the jazz world: Tomasz Dąbrowski (trumpet), Manuel Hermia (saxophone), Kaja Draksler (piano), Per Zanussi (bass), and Savannah Harris (drums). Each musician brings a distinct improvisational voice and global sensibility to the group, resulting in music that is spontaneous, richly textured, and deeply communicative. Their set is sure to showcase virtuosic interplay and thoughtful dynamics — a conversation in real time among artists who know how to listen, react, and create together.

Closing the night is ØKSE, a pan-Scandinavian supergroup born out of the 2023 International Jazz Platform. Rooted in collective exploration, ØKSE blends Nordic lyricism with rhythmic fire and avant-garde intuition. With members hailing from different corners of the European scene, the ensemble leans into surprise and collective direction rather than traditional soloing. Their performance promises a fresh wave of ideas, reflecting the spirit of the Platform itself — a laboratory for boundary-breaking music, emerging voices, and fearless collaboration.
